Admission Procedures

Westover Christian Academy is here to serve you as an extension of your home in training your child. The procedures for enrollment are as listed. If at anytime you have questions or do not understand something, please feel free to call the office at (434) 822-0800.

1. Prior to January 1, complete the blue pre-admission form and return to WCA. This will place your child on the waiting list. Please note the $15.00 fee.

2. After January 1 of the year you intend to enroll, complete the student application and return it to the WCA office. Also, complete the top portion of the pastor’s recommendation form and give to your pastor. If applying for grades 9-12, character reference forms should also be given to the appropriate people for completion. These forms should be mailed to the school by the individual completing the form in the envelopes provided.

3. Wait to be notified by the WCA office. Registration for new students begins the first business day in March. Preference is given to those already pre-registered. As spaces become available, people on the waiting list will be contacted by the office. For students applying to grades 5-12, a personal interview is required. Upon receipt of the application, Pastor's recommendation, and character reference forms (grades 9-12), a personal interview will be scheduled with a parent, the student and the designated administrator. Parents should bring a report card for the preceding year, or a transcript from the sending school, and most recent standardized achievement test results to the interview.

4. When you come to the office to register your child, bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and the preceding year’s report card. Turn in all required forms, including the financial agreement and request for records. If placement testing is needed, it will be scheduled at this time.

5. Recognize that the class placement of new students rests with the faculty and school administration. Final placement is made on the basis of transfer records, achievement test scores, and results of the probationary period.

6. New students are placed on probation for a period of nine weeks. Faculty and staff evaluations are made during this period regarding the student’s academic progress, discipline, peer interaction, and adjustment to WCA. A parent conference may be requested during this period.

7. No applicant will be rejected on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin.
